Storage Terms & Conditions

Holiday storage facility for returning students at Burgers Park Student Hotel.

Please read carefully. By storing your belongings in the building storage facilities, you acknowledge and accept all terms and conditions outlined below.

1. Storage Period

Storage is available exclusively during the December/January holiday period. Belongings must be collected within 14 days of the new lease commencing. Items not collected within 30 days of the lease start date may be disposed of at the discretion of management.

2. Eligibility

Storage is offered at no cost to returning students who have submitted a confirmed application for the upcoming academic year. New applicants are not eligible for this benefit until their application is approved and a lease is signed.

3. Permitted & Prohibited Items

Permitted items include clothing, bedding, books, small electronics, and non-perishable personal effects. Prohibited items include perishable food, flammable materials, hazardous chemicals, valuables (jewellery, large amounts of cash), and any illegal substances.

4. Packaging Requirements

All items must be stored in a proper box, suitcase, or crate/container that is fully closed and clearly marked with the student's name and student number. Boxes are available to purchase at Reception at a minimal price, which will be communicated internally. Loose or unsealed items will not be accepted for storage.

5. Collection & Non-Occupation

Returning students who are unable to take occupation for any reason may collect their stored belongings at a fee of R500 if they do not take occupation or know prior to the occupation date that they will not be able to take occupation. Once a resident returns and completes the entry inspection, they may collect their stored belongings at no charge whatsoever.

6. Liability & Responsibility

Burgers Park Student Hotel accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to stored belongings. Storage is provided at the student's own risk. Students are strongly encouraged to arrange personal insurance for high-value items. The facility is a shared storage area and individual item security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Access & Conditions

Access to the storage facility is available during office hours (Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00). Students must label all items clearly with their name, student number, and contact number. Management reserves the right to inspect stored items for compliance with these terms at any time.
